There are two types of Members, normal membership is via the Corporate route. Alternatively an individual may join but only if their corporate structure prevents normal membership, and only with the permission of the Council.

Corporate Membership

Corporate Membership will be granted to any business or entity that is deemed, by the Council, to be a Qualified Corporate Member on application and once the Association has received the joining fee and appropriate annual subscription charge. The Council will not unreasonably withhold granting of membership.

Individual Membership

Individual Membership is available to those individuals who in the opinion of the Council should be included within the Association but due to the nature of their circumstances are unable to have their corporate entity join.

Honorary Membership

Honorary memberships will be be granted to individuals that have made an outstanding contribution towards the aims and objectives of the HKBIA.

Honorary Association Membership

Honorary Association memberships will be be granted to associations or organisations that have made an outstanding contribution towards the aims and objectives of the HKBIA.

Fees

Joining Fee HKD1,500:  One-off fee paid by all members irrespective of size on joining or re-joining if their membership has lapsed.

Annual Subscriptions: There are three membership tiers:

Platinum Membership, > 11 employees or > HKD30 million turnover.  HKD10,000

Prime location in the Directory, can register as many members of staff with the Hong Kong BIA as they choose

Gold Membership, <11 employees, < HKD30 million turnover, HKD 5,000

Prominent location in the Directory, can register up to five members of staff with the Hong Kong BIA.

Standard Membership, < 4 employees, < HKD10 million turnover,  HKD 2,000

Listed in the Directory, can register 2 members of staff with the Hong Kong BIA
