Re: Marine Department - LVAC Sub-committee on Class IV Vessels Meeting

27 May 2026 12:41 | The Chair (Administrator)

Dear Members,

HKBIA joined the Mardep LVAC Sub-committee on Class IV meeting on 26 May 2026.

Key take-aways (refer to documents);

1. The designated five (5) anchorage zones would allow yachts to enter HK without the need to have a berth at a marina club. Yachts will be able to cruise to other areas in HK for leisure purposes only. If the yacht is not used for leisure purposes, the yacht shall return to the designated anchorage zone.

2. Charter vessels should follow Code of Practice - Safety Standards for Class IV Vessels requirements.

3. Upgrades to be made on marine department website to allow smoother applications and bookings.

4. Upgraded Audit Regime for Authorized Surveyors (AS)
