    Guidelines for Northbound Scheme:

    ENGLISH

    CHINESE

The guidelines may change from time to time as the scheme is still under development.

    In order to prepare for the maiden voyage in time, please follow the guidelines. Some important steps that may take time to prepare;

    1. Install VHF & AIS. Get your MMSI from OFCA.
    2. Get your yacht surveyed by CCS Surveyor for a survey report (need to inspect yacht)
    3. Get the Ship Sanitation Control Exemption Certificate (need to inspect yacht)

Prior to departure from Hong Kong (within 72 hours):

    Refer to Mardep Website

    1. A Port Clearance should be obtained before a yacht/pleasure vessel leaves Hong Kong waters.
    2. The masters/owners/agents should produce a General Declaration Form MD 510 together with the Certificate of Registry and a Sailing Notice at one of the District Marine Offices.
    3. A prescribed fee of HK$58 is charged for the issue of a port clearance. The port clearance ceases to be valid after the lapse of 72 hours. The masters/owners/agents are required to re-apply for a port clearance if the intended departure is deferred for more than 72 hours after the port clearance is issued, or inform the District Marine Office if the intended departure is cancelled.

In the near future, we hope to consolidate the exact procedure on how to apply for the northbound yacht travel scheme.

    Dear All,

The HKBIA & SZBIA GBA Marina and Port Tour was a successful event. It was a great opportunity to visit the Nansha Marina, Visun Shenzhen Airport Marina, and the Shekou Port - 3 of the ports where you can do CIQ to enter the GBA.

It was a great opportunity to have a dialogue with various Govt authorities and the SZBIA.

Thank you to SZBIA for jointly organising the event and a special thank you to our sponsors, Cheoy Lee Yachts, ePropulsion, and Hong Kong Shipyard.

We hope to more events to the GBA in the near future. Stay tuned!

(Hong Kong, 20 April 2026, 1700hrs) – Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) today invites global investors and partners to submit Expression of Interest (EOIs) for SKYTOPIA’s Yacht Bay, marking another milestone in the Airport City development at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).

As one of SKYTOPIA’s core components, the Yacht Bay is set to become Asia’s new premier nautical destination featuring three key water-themed projects, namely the Airport Bay Marina, Marine Resort, and aquatic entertainment. The Airport Bay Marina is Hong Kong’s largest facility of its kind that provides 500 berths for vessels up to 100m long. The Marine Resort will comprise a hotel development with direct marina access and a lively promenade dotted with diverse dining and leisure options. The Yacht Bay will also house Hong Kong’s largest aquatic entertainment and water recreation area that will host a wide range of activities for visitors of all ages.

The Yacht Bay enjoys synergy with SKYTOPIA’s offerings in entertainment, art, convention and exhibition, food and beverages, tourism and more. Leveraging its seamless connections with HKIA, SKYTOPIA’s distinctive model of sea-air-land integration enables yacht-to-flight and flight-to-waterfront experiences within one destination. Its strategic location at the centre of the Greater Bay Area will also make it a focal point of bridgehead economic vibrancy.

Vivian Cheung, Chief Executive Officer of AAHK, said, “SKYTOPIA offers an exceptional scale and prime location for water-themed projects rarely found in established international markets. The launch of this Expression of Interest exercise marks another important milestone in SKYTOPIA’s journey, following the recent signing of a contract to develop a dedicated art storage facility. These developments underscore our commitment to realising SKYTOPIA as a world class destination that integrates air travel with entertainment and waterfront leisure. We invite the global marina, hospitality and investment sectors to contribute innovative ideas and collaborate with us in launching a new chapter of yacht tourism in Asia.”

Through the EOI exercise, AAHK is seeking input from leading international partners with expertise in marina development and operations, yacht services, hospitality, tourism and large-scale mixed-use projects, to jointly shape SKYTOPIA as a world class destination.

AAHK will invest in the enabling works and infrastructural facilities, such as the piazza and cove-side promenade, to create a vibrant environment for all visitors.

Details of the EOI can be found via the webpage: https://www.skytopiahk.com/en/eoi/yachtbay
